Since its inception in 2004, the Water Management Administration (AGE), which operates under the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, is responsible for ensuring the sustainable and integrated management of Luxembourg’s water resources.

The work of the AGE, in collaboration with a large number of partners and stakeholders, includes supervising the supply of drinking water, monitoring and protecting surface and groundwater resources, and ensuring an integrated risk management and prevention of floods. The AGE also coordinates the planning of wastewater treatment, manages water pollution incidents, carries out flood forecasting, and manages water-related authorizations. Another important task of the AGE is to represent Luxembourg at the international river commissions.
